people - and learning to trust them - so you may as well know who we are.
THE PEOPLE Born in 1947, I grew up in Cologne, matriculated, and became a banker. In 1969, I emigrated to South Africa, married, started a family, and spent my entire working life in international trade. Maggie hails from the Frankonia region of Germany, and came to South Africa when she was a child. Thirty years later, in 1999, my family and I returned to Europe, and settled in Germany.
Since September 2005 our daughter Alexandra has joined us at Vintex.
THE HISTORY The name "Vintex Trading" was chosen, when we started our own business in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1995. The business then centered around importing and wholesaling seasonal giftware and decorations for Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day, Halloween etc., until it was sold in 1999 because of our migration.
THE PRESENT Re-starting in Germany, Vintex had to change direction because of a different trading environment. We now mainly serve the hospitality industry by supplying all their needs, be it furniture and fittings, machinery and equipment, accessories, spares, and consumables. In addition, we offer a range of F&B items, including German specialities and portion packs, which is suitable for retailers and caterers, as well as the hospitality industry. It notably includes products for consumers with special dietary requirements. Our seasonal ranges have special appeal for people accustomed to European traditions. Being a small family business - and wanting to stay a family business in the next generation - we pay attention to detail, and maintain a personal relationship with trading partners and customers. This far, we have satisfactory trading relationships with agents in a number of countries, and are looking to establish distributorships in other countries.

We shall at all times give the best possible service. We shall be honest and ethical in all our dealings. We aim to meet the reasonable expectations of our trading partners, to perform to their satisfaction, and to earn their respect.
